To My Sons, I owe you a big apology. All these years I have yelled at you for peeing all over the bathroom. or this I am truly sorry. I just took one of your cousins ( a girl) to the potty to go pee. I looked down at the front of the toilet and there was pee running down the front. It was coming from under the lid and above the bowl. so all these years I scolded you for missing the bowl, I maybe should have been yelling at Jamie as well. So for this I say I am sorry. I do know however, there were times it had to be your. SWORDS!!!!!! Need I say more.

Well we have a new member added to our family. Everyone I want to introduce Angus Duke Haynes. He is the new dog of Jamie and Brandon. As you can see by the photos he has made himself right at home. He is so cute. He is a good boy and so far is getting along well with the other four legged family members. Welcome to our house Angus. Look mom one of every color.

Bud was out taking the dogs for a run when Moose found a friend. Bud called Moose off and brought the friend home. We strapped him to a board. He is a Southern Utah Diamond back Rattler. This is the fifth one killed in the last three weeks in our area. SCARY. I hate Snakes.

As most of you know Josh and Steph have been living with us. We love having them here and all is well. Only everything they own is in the front living room smashed in so tight. Jamie noticed that the blinds looked like they had been burnt so Steph went in to check it out. What we found was the contents of the room had been smashed so hard against the window the sun was burning the blinds trap in between. So Steph climbed in over all there stuff and pulled things away. It was a grand time watching her do this Jamie and I were laughing our heads off.The blue thing in middle of the photo is Steph.

Ok so most of you think I have dropped off the face of the earth but it is not true. getting Josh and Steph's store up and running and keeping up with our normal shows is making it a bit crazy around our house.However we did manage to have a few moments of special family time and I wanted to share. so here goes.We had a clean up day after we chopped down the big cotton wood tree. So there was a lot of bark and twigs to burn. When you have a fire you must have hot dogs so that is just what we did. Some of lives greatest moments are never planed. Thanks kids for making it a great time.

I have just done it again. I have had company for the last week. It was Richard Darrington and one of his teachers Lynn from Georgia here for classes and training. They left at 2:30am this morning to make it to the airport in Vegas by 6. Last night Philip came for the week end. I am so happy to have him here. It has been fun to visit with Rich and Lynn, and they really are no trouble. Josh was here for most of the week. the week before I had two of Richards teachers here staying with us for a week Lynn and Kim. Before that I had Jamie and Brandon with kids. I do not think my house has had a empty bed for quite some time. It is grand having the room so I guess I should not complain and I love seeing my family. so I guess I will just SHUT UP. We are getting ready to head out on Monday to do shows. We will be gone for a month so I need everyone to check on MOM. I think she is going to go to Maridee's and stay. I am so grateful Maridee asked her to come. I wont worry as much about the house and her. Out cells should always work so please let me know if something comes up. I was down in Vegas for a couple of days and Jamie had the funnest flowers on her table. It was just like a touch of spring. So I copied her and made up these flower pots. It makes me feel so happy to look at the bright colors and remember the cold will not last forever. Are they not SO CUTE. I picked Gerber daisy's cuz they are Annie-b's favorite and I made one for each of my girls. love ya

Holy Crap! I just started my day with a work out with Richard Simmons. Yes he is for old people who have not moved in the last decade. I am exhausted. So now you know in what category I fit into. It was fun. I did dancing with the oldies. (ha ha ha) I looked more like a panicked wale trying to make it back to high tide but who cares. I even got Bud to shake a leg for while. Heres to having fun this year. Hope all are well. Keep up the blogging I miss everyone when they do not up date.

Feild to Parking lot

Yesterday I received a photo of my family when we first moved to the Toquerville valley approximately 1965. I was the age of 6, I am now 50 so a bit of time has passed. In the back of this photo is the out line of a metal baseball back stop. For those of you who do not know what this is, It's a pipe frame with wire on the inside to act as a final stop or protection for those who sit behind it. It's purpose is to stop the baseballs that might get pass the catcher of a baseball team during a game.
This particular backstop was crudely made I am sure by local farmers of the time trying to make a nice place to have some recreation time with there son's, daughters and neighbors. If you look to the ground in the photo there is no grass to play on.
I remember one of the ranchers would come in and till up the soil every now and then to keep the weeds down. Some days it was a dusty dirty mess. But if you added water just after it had been tilled it was a great place to play mud football.
As I viewed the photo I had so many fun memories filter through my mind. I remember the one horse rodeo's we would have. Oh yes! we had the full show. Bull riders, barrel racers, ropers, and don't forget the clowns. Of course the bulls were one of the local farmers beef cows, the barrel racers were the older teenage girls at the time. The Ropers, they were the kids who had nothing better to do than stand around throwing a rope at a stump all day. Each year it was these same ones who would sign up to try and rope one of the yearly calves someone would donate, while they tried to stay on a horse. The clowns, they were the stars of the show. They were each person who participated in the rodeo. Trust me they all were funny. No national finals rodeo had so many unexpected happenings during each event.
Like the time I was riding the speed race. This is not what you would think. It was not a race around a track to see who had the fastest horse. No!
This was a race down to the bottom of the field or out field in this case, being careful not to go to far and hit the irrigation ditch. If you did go to far your horse would jump the ditch while possibly loosing you on one side or the other. If you came off it was with a smack when you hit the ground. If you managed to stay seated, then you had to stop your horse, get off, remove your saddle, blanket and all. Lay it on the ground, turn your horse around so it was headed back the way it had just come. Then re saddle your horse, mount and race back to the finish line.
I remember dad being so excited because he new I could win. I had a fast horse and my saddle had a quick release cinch. He kept telling me just get down there, pull the quick release let the saddle fall turn Tammy around then re saddle her and head for home. This was all fine and well except no one told me what or where the quick release cinch was.
I had just started riding by myself and Randy, Rory, my brothers or dad always saddle for me. So I had no Idea of a quick release.
The race began and just as dad had predicted I was out in front right from the start. I got to the end of the field jumped off and started removing the saddle. I unwrapped the cinch strap again and again and again and again. While dad was yelling just use the quick release.
I was trying to do it right! I moved faster and faster which cased me to do more thing wrong. I look back now and it was hilarious. I was trying to keep the horse still, remove the saddle, turn the horse around. Then I would run back around the other side to get everything to re saddle my horse. While trying to keep the adrenalin rush I was having from making me go nuts. I was jumping around throwing things here and there. What a mess. Stickers were getting in the saddle blanket, dirt was flying everywhere. I was lucky when I finally got her saddled again and back up on top of her not to get thrown off because there was a cocklebur under her blanket. I found this out later when unsaddling her. I wonder if during all this race if anyone noticed I was not a professional? What a good laugh!
The saddle finally came off but it was not until all the other riders had came and went. When I finally crossed the finish line. I felt like the biggest fool. This was a race I should have won hands down. It was a hard loss to take I had wanted to beat one of the other riders so bad my teeth ached. She had beaten me in every event so far. I had already pictured myself wearing the home made ribbon award with pride, and seeing This person green with en vie. Oh! the best laid plans.
It was not till all was over and done that dad explained to me about the quick release cinch. I realized just how easy it would have been to win had I known all the facts. To make the lose complete, The one I did not want to win, Won! It was not a total loss. I look back now and I get a good laugh.
The back drop of the field was a great place to climb I didn't get very high the wire would cut into my bare feet and cause me to come back down. Some of the boys in town could go clear to the top. Who would have thought to put on shoes. No way! I had rawhide souls on the bottom of my feet. I never wore shoes if I could get away with it. I remember running from the shade of one thing to the shade of another so the black tar on the road would not stick to the bottom of my feet and burn my feet to badly.
Right behind the back drop was an old style teeter tatter. It was a high light of most of my days playing. Being made out of wood it was the cause of many a sliver but the fun was worth it. I loved it when the older kids would teeter with me. They would let my end of the board bang down on the ground really hard. It would jar me to the top of my head, but when I came back up and my legs lost all gravity at the top of the lift and my bottom lifted off the board what a sensation.
The baseball field was surround by fruit orchards and pecan trees. It was a grand place to grab a snack. Good memories good times and yes, every now and then the baseball field was even used for a good game of baseball. Later as some of the boys in town got older we made a bike trail on the field for our peddle bikes. It was a grand speed way.
Now, the field has been replaced by a church parking lot. It is very nicely done. There is greenery all around the perimeter. The parking lines are kept clean and white. They look wonderful against the black assault. There is now a basketball hoop down on the bottom end for the local kids to play ball. The large trash bin sits on the Southwest corner in it metal cage of chain-leank. There are trees planted here and there around the out side edge. It is a wonderful frame for the church that sits at the top of the lot. I miss the old lot.
Things are changing so fast, the old life is fading further and further away. The kids of today will never know of the fun at the baseball field, or the fun one can have with a bunch of old cows, out of shape plow horses and an old farmer with a mega phone as an intercom system.
Some things about moving forward are sad and lonely. What to do now? Tell the stories, share the pictures and hope they can picture it in there minds and get a laugh. While getting a taste of the olden days.

We have had so much fun in all the snow. It was great because we didn't have to go out in it unless we wanted to. We had gotten in enough wood and grocery's to last us. We just sat back and enjoyed. We took the bikes and went out behind the house and played. What a hoot!!! It was amazing to watch it pile up. Then as it has started to melt see what force it can have as it slips off the roofs. I am hoping for a white Christmas but who knows. It is still on the ground but I do not know if it will last. To all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

What a great day! I was so happy watching all the events that were taking place. I was so great full to all of my family who came and supported Christian. I know he was very happy. I enjoyed getting to visit and chat with all. I want to take this moment to tell Jamie and Brandon thank you for raising my grandsons in the gospel and teaching them good values. The world is a very scary place right now and it is going to get worse but with the gospel as a blanket I still feel safe. Thank you again everyone it was great.

Hello family and friends. We had a great turkey day! We had the standard football
game. shot the guns, ate ton's of food, had puppies, got Christmas trees, rode the four wheelers, played games, and laugh till my sides hurt. I would like to thank Jed and Annie for the use of there home, It made it great. Also the ranch for taking care of the over flow at the little house and for the use of the fifth wheel trailer. I sure hope everyone had as great of a time as I did.

JUST KEEP CLIMBING

As you can see by Jamies blog we had a great time during her visit. I would like to share an event with you and because I am not a great writer please be kind as you read. Toryen and Christian were playing in the dry creek bed out behind our house. They were where the walls of the creek were rather steep. They would climb up and roll down in the sand and were having such fun.
Jamie was shooting the gun and I was just laying on my bike soaking up the sun and listening to the sounds of my loved ones. When Christian and Toryen started teaching me a lesson.
Christian said "Toryen lets climb up right here". So up they started the climb. It was the steepest part of the mountain and It would be a challenge to both of them, thats if they made it. Christian has just long enough legs that he could actually make head way with out the sand falling back down where he had just stepped but Toryen has littler legs and each time he would take a step the sand would move and he would be basically be back where he started.
So Bub who is Christian got out in head right at the start. When Toryen looked up Christian was so far ahead he yelled "Bub wait for me" To which Christian replied JUST KEEP CLIMBING. Toryen put his head down and started up again. he made it to the top of the first rise where he thought he would find his brother but by then Christian had gone up and over the top. Toryen called out again" bub,where are you?" Christian said "right here" Toryen said "I can't see you" Christian replied "JUST KEEP CLIMBING". So with out fail and trusting his brother Toryen went to climbing again. By now the sand was very steep and soft. Toryen was getting tired so he was down on his hands and knees trying to make it to the top. I was sure he would give up and come back down. But, he kept climbing and just when he was ready to top out Christian stepped to the edge of the dune where Toryen could see him. Toryen looked up and cried " Bub I found you" to which Christian replied "I was right hear all the time". When I heard Christian's reply to his brother for the last time. I was so filled with the spirit of a kind father in heaven.
It whispered to me. "MALAWNA JUST KEEP CLIMBING, EVEN IF YOU CAN'T SEE ME,I'M RIGHT HERE".
I am so great full for a heavenly father who loves me enough to remind me how really simple his plan for me is. As long as each of us are headed up we are headed in the right direction. So, Family and Friends

While we were in Las Vegas we went to Christian and Toryen's primary program. I would like to share some of the behind the before the program with you. I had been working with Toryen getting him to say his part over and over so he would memories it and not be scared when he got up to do it. His part was "FAMILY HOME EVENING STRENGTHENS OUR FAMILY" About the third or fourth time he said it right in the middle he stops and says "Grandma I need a moment I'm a bit nervous". Where dose he get this stuff. Any how we went on practicing and about the sixth or seventh time through he says " I am Optamus prime and Family Home Evening makes me strong". Well after that I was freaking out thinking that was how he was going to say his part.Now if you do not know who Optamus prime is, it is Toryen's latest super hero. We decided to let it go and see if he would forget about the Optamus prime thing and get back to his real part. He didn't. We got to the church and the program went wonderful. Then it was Toryen's part. He walked to the pulpit put a hand on each side took a deep breath and let it out in the mike. Then said " Family Home evening----Long pause with a evil smile----Strengthens our family. Then he went and sat down. Now everyone was watching him because the next child had not started there part yet. Toryen gets in his seat then looks down at me and gives me the two thumbs up sign with a big huge smile. I gave them right back to him so everyone watching would know he was mine. I love those little men.

The reason we went down was Toryen and Christian were in there primary program. They both did a wonderful job and they sang so great. It is amazing to see them being so grown up and doing there parts. I think however Toryen's teacher is being tested on patience. Toryen is a bit of a handful. I think Toryen would agree there are to many things to do besides sit still and be reverent. Thanks boys for a great week end. Jamie thank you and Brandon for all the great food and fun. had the funnest week end. We got to go to Las Vegas and see the kids. I took Christian and Toryen on a walk and we ended up at the playground by there house. It was so fun watching them slide and climb and hearing all there "Watch Me Grandma's" I have had several jobs in my life but being a grandma is one of my favorites.

Well we are back from vacation and we had a blast. It was a lot of driving but worth it. Bud got to look for arrow heads and I got to ride my bike and see country I love. It was good to get away from phones and work for a while. Now back to work! We only have two more show this year and then a little down time. I sure can use that. My house looks like a dust bunny on drugs came through. The yard is in serious need of a make over. But like they say a time and a season.

You know what I totally dis-like, I would say HATE but I am trying to not use that word. I dis like women who get up every morning shower, do there hair, put on there face and go about there day and never look like the world has touched them. They work in there yards and never get a drop of dirt on there hands or on there clothes. I get up, I shower, I do my hair, I at least wash my face and with in ten minutes of these tasks I have dirt and grim all over me. What is the deal? Even when I try hard not to have anything happen to me partials some how cling to me and contaminate me to the point I look like I am part of the compost pile instead of the garden. If any of you out there can tell me what I am doing wrong, please share with me.

We had such a great time riding on the ranch where Bud grew up. The pic of me on the bike is what I do while Bud is hunting arrow heads. The one of Bud is where he found one. The other pic is the kind of country we were riding in. The weather was great the ground was a bit dry and dusty but we had a blast.

Emery's funeral

I am sure most of you know by now that my brother Emery Nez has passed away and we are having the funeral Tuesday September23, 2008 at the Toquerville cometary. It makes me so sad to think all of Emery's blood family was taken by alcohol. I know Emery has been very sad since his brother left this world and I believe they are both together once again. We as a family met together and planned the funeral and such and here are a few photos that I took while they were all here.

Well were back from Fort Bridger and getting ready to go to our next one. It seems the work never stops. Bud and I both have colds and it is hard making ourselves get up and get moving. Fort Bridger was a great show and we had a lot of fun. We got rained on and all the grandkids ended up in Grandma's trailer. We blew up our transmission on the way home so it took us a lot longer to get home than normal. On the way Bud saw they were having the Fillmore arts and Craft show so we pulled off and set up. It was a good thing as well. We got to spend time with old friends and rest for a bit. I am loving my new camp trailer it is like the Hilton on wheels.

Stud Muffin! Christian has come to spend a couple of weeks with Bud and I. He is going to meet his mother up at Fort Bridger Wyoming at our next show. He is such a great kid. He loves to tell stories and be the center of the program just like any other 7 year old. He is a handful and he keeps us busy but I would not change having him here for anything. Yesterday he had his baby brother call him. It was the saddest thing I have ever heard. Toryen love's his older brother lots. I am so looking forward to having them up at the show with us. Natalie, Joel and there children are coming as well. I sure love being a grandma. Yes Jamie this is how I let Christian dress when he is here. He is having a blast.

Christian's Stay

We have been blessed to have Christian come and stay with us for two weeks. When he is here he gets to dress himself and play around the yard with out much worry. He is able to ride the 4 Wheeler around the yard and he thinks he is pretty cool he dose it by himself. We are having a good time having him here. I wanted to post this photo because his Mother Jamie will have a fit about how he is dressed. To make it worse, I took him to St. George dressed like this, well he did have a t-shirt on. Good fun heh Jay!

In our yard is an old Cotton wood tree. I remember it all the time I was growing up. We had forts in it and hid in its branches. Rope swings and tire swings were a common site to see until the ropes would rot and break. The tree is now old and we are going to have to have it removed. It is like cutting down a bit of my past. It breaks my heart to think of not looking out the window or being out in the yard and not seeing it there. Like all things though time moves on. But I will always have the memories. I only wish my kids and grandkids could have had some of the same ones.

As of August 24th we will be on the road again. We are headed to the biggest show we do. It is in Fort Bridger Wyoming. We will be there for a week then we are headed over to Bud's old stomping grounds and were going to stay there for a week or two. Then were headed to Jed and Annie's to stay with them for a bit. I usually hate going on the road but this time is different we have our new trailer and we are able to carry our 4 wheelers with us. So OH HAPPY DAY'S. Hey Josh you got to love this one.

This is our work place. We go to Mountain Man shows called Rendezvous and sell our wares. Bud is a potter and has been for 34 years. He dose all the throwing and I do the glazing. We make a great team.

Hey Guys I AM BLOGGING. Up till now Jamie my daughter has been doing it for me. Who in there right mind would put a picture of there self with a butt that big on the main page.

Out at the Ranch

We went out to the ranch with Jamie, Josh, and Jed and thier families. It was lots of fun. We rode the bikes, had a big dinner, and got to visit everyone for a bit.
